Your full care journey

Step 1

Complete your intake form

Start with a short online intake — takes about 5 minutes. Tell us about your mental health concerns, current medications, insurance information, and scheduling preferences. Your information is kept confidential in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Step 2

Meet your matched psychiatrist

Based on your intake, we match you with a board-certified psychiatrist suited to your needs and state of residence. Your first appointment is a 50-minute video session where your psychiatrist listens, asks questions, and begins building your picture of care.

Step 3

Receive your personalized care plan

Together with your psychiatrist, you'll explore treatment options that may work for your situation — which may include medication management, therapy referral coordination, or both. You are a partner in every decision. Nothing is prescribed without your understanding and agreement.

Step 4

Ongoing check-ins & prescription refills

After your initial appointment, ongoing care continues with shorter 15-minute follow-up sessions. Your psychiatrist monitors your progress, adjusts medication if needed, and provides prescription refills — all without requiring you to leave home.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

A psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive assessment conducted by a board-certified psychiatrist. During your first 50-minute appointment, your provider will review your medical and mental health history, discuss your current symptoms, and collaborate with you to explore treatment options that may be appropriate for your situation.
Most patients are matched with a psychiatrist and scheduled within the same week of completing their intake. Availability may vary depending on your state and the complexity of your needs, but we work to minimize wait times significantly compared to traditional in-person psychiatric care.
Yes. Legion Health psychiatrists are licensed to prescribe psychiatric medications in the states where we operate. Prescriptions are sent directly to your pharmacy. Any medication decision is made collaboratively — your psychiatrist will walk you through options, expected effects, and alternatives before any prescription is written.
In most cases, no referral is needed to get started with Legion Health. You can complete our intake form directly. For patients using certain insurance plans, your plan may have specific requirements — contact us and we will help clarify what, if anything, is needed for your plan.
We accept most major insurance plans including Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Medicare, and others. Coverage and copay amounts vary by plan. Visit our Insurance page to learn more or use our benefits verification form.
Legion Health is not a crisis service. If you or someone you know is experiencing a psychiatric emergency or is at risk of harm, please call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) immediately, call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room. Legion Health is designed for ongoing outpatient psychiatric care, not crisis intervention.
Yes. If for any reason you'd like to be matched with a different psychiatrist, please contact our care team at [email protected]. We will work with you to find a provider who is a better fit. Your comfort and trust in your care team matters to us.
A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a working camera and microphone is all you need. Our video platform works in most modern web browsers — no app download required. A stable internet connection (WiFi or mobile data) and a private, quiet space will give you the best experience.
